Recently the vineyards of Bodegas Piqueras have been complemented by a new area of 280 hectares of land: ‘El Vínculo’. This latest acquisition is adding up to the vineyards that Bodegas Piqueras already own in Finca Timonares.
The estate is located in the natural environment of the Almansa reservoir, an ideal place for the winegrowing carried out by Bodegas Piqueras.
These new lands comprise vines, olive trees, almonds and cereals, all surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland in an ideal climate for agriculture. Like the rest of the yields from Piqueras, the grapes from El Vinculo are certified as organic.
Increased area of great quality vines
With this last acquisition, two objectives are sought: most importantly, the area of own vineyard is increased by incorporating well acclimatized grape varieties, grown in unproductive soils which offers great quality grapes.
The result of these new grapes will be the elaboration of high quality wines with different grape varieties.
Construction of a new winery and support for wine tourism
On the other hand, thanks to the perfect positioning and the privileged location of the lands, very close to Almansa, the new Estate offers the possibility of building a “Premium” wine cellar and a visitor centre to promote wine tourism on a long term.
