Bodegas Piqueras in Vinitaly

Bodegas Piqueras attended Vinitaly 2016, Italy’s leading wine fair, and one of the most important in the world. It is where experts, wineries and wine lovers from all over the world come to meet up and get a good look at what’s out there.

During the four days of the Fair in the delightful city of Verona we had the chance to meet international importers and distributors and to check out the competition at close quarters.

The organizers were impressed with our products, and there was a lot of interest expressed in getting to know the family winery first hand, as well as the native grape varieties which go into most of our wines and are unfamiliar to many. They were also pleasantly surprised by the elegance, quality and value for money of our wines.

One of the possibilities that Vinitaly offers participants is the chance to talk face to face with clients from all over the world, some from places not so very far away, like Switzerland, Finland or Turkey, along with other more faraway countries like Japan, China or Canada. To be able to talk with them and taste the latest wines together was one of the highlights of the Fair, and we are proud to think that events like this give us the chance to make new friends in the wine trade from all over the world.

2016 was the 50th anniversary of Vinitaly. Over the years the Fair has come to be recognized as a strategic and economic springboard for the international expansion of Italian wine, and it is this trade event above all others that has nurtured the development of the wine trade in Italy at both national and international level, helping to make the wine industry one of the most dynamic and exciting parts of the primary sector of the Italian economy.
