08 Apr Two Golds and one Silver for Castillo de Almansa and Valcanto, in Citadelles du Vin 2019
The latest edition of Citadelles du Vin, held in March 2019, has been an enormous opportunity to recognize the quality of our wines. Specifically, from our Castillo de Almansa Crianza and Castillo de Almansa Reserva, in addition to the Valcanto Syrah, which were awarded with two golds and one silver medal respectively.
Our Castillo de Almansa family receives distinctive awards each year. Castillo de Almansa Reserva, from the 2016 vintage, is a ruby red wine made with the best grapes; Monastrell (50%), Garnacha Tintorera, 20% and Tempranillo (20%). For its part, Castillo de Almansa Crianza, from the 2017 vintage, is a wine made up of the Monastrell (50%), Tempranillo (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) grape varieties that delight the taster with a very balanced, elegant and silky experience.
Likewise, Valcanto Syrah, from the 2016 vintage, is a recognized wine, made with the variety of Syrah grape that stands out for its distinctive character and aroma of black plums, blueberries, liquorice, blackberries and white pepper. All the award-winning vintages are still to be released to the market.
The Citadelles du Vin competition is an international event held every year in the month of March in the city of Bordeaux, France. Every year, with the help of more than 50 of the highest level tasters, they evaluate more than 1,000 wines from 40 different countries and of which 75% are foreign wines.
