GRAPE: 100 % Garnacha Tintorera
D.O.P.: ALMANSA
VINEYARDS: 750-900 metres altitude, 45-60 year old dry-farmed goblet vines planted in cool, sandy plots to obtain a wine with sweeter tannins while preserving the fruit on the palate. Organic farming methods, soils poor in nutrients and rich in limestone, low rainfall, average yield of 1.2-1.5 kg of grapes per vine.
AGEING: 5-6 months in fine-grained, medium-toasted American barrels (300 L).
HARVESTING: Manual harvest during the first week of October, selecting the best small bunches at optimum ripeness.
VINIFICATION: Continuous maceration at 25ºC for 2 weeks to preserve the primary aromas of the fruit and not to extract too much tannin on the palate.
Tasting Note
Flavoursome, full-bodied, deep in colour with a broad range of ripe dark fruit and fresh wild grass. Soft, juicy tannins and good levels of natural acidity combine to offer a wine full of flavours.
