GRAPE: 100% Garnacha Tintorera
D.O.P.: ALMANSA
VINEYARDS: 700-800 metres above sea level, 40-60 year old dry-farmed vines planted in cool, sandy plots to obtain a wine with sweeter tannins and preserve the fruit on the palate, organic farming methods, soils poor in nutrients and rich in limestone, low rainfall.
HARVESTING: Manual harvest during the first week of October, selecting the best small bunches at optimum ripeness.
AGEING: 6 months in fine grain, medium toasted American barrels (300 L).
VINIFICATION: Continuous maceration at 25ºC for 2 weeks to preserve the primary aromas of the fruit and not to extract too much tannin on the palate.
Tasting Note
Tasty and expressive red wine with good body and a dark colour, aromas of blackcurrant, strawberries, sweet raspberries and sage. Very good structure on the palate and a well-balanced acidity with marked tannins that give it great personality.
